I was recently tagged in Lee’s and Amy’s 11 things posts. I don’t usually include much information about myself on the blog, other than my workout stuff, so I’m really enjoying these list posts. I know I just did one last week, so hopefully this isn’t overkill.
11 Facts about me:
1. Movies with lots of gunfire put me right to sleep.I’m not saying that they bore me – the sound of movie machine gun fire just seems to put me to sleep.
2. I used to blog way before blogging was a thing. Like in… 1999 (maybe 1998) I had my own website and blog (and I was blog friends with Amy – we were super cool teenagers) – then I switched to LiveJournal (yes, seriously) and was there until 2007ish.
3. I really like junk food and I refuse to feel bad about it. I frequently stop at Dunkin Donuts after a long run and I love french fries.
4. I am about to make the last big payment on my credit card. I’ve been hardcore paying my credit cards off for the last 4 years. Every extra dollar went to them and I’m less than 30 days away from being totally out of debt (except for my student loan). I’ve been paying so much every month that it’s going to feel like I’m getting a huge raise.
5. My parents are the funniest, quirkiest people ever. I can tell hilarious stories about them for hours. One day, I want to introduce them to a comedian or someone who could write a book about how great they are. Fun fact: My dad is obsessed with pirates. Fun fact 2: My mom called me at work and left a message that she was having an emergency. When I called her back, in a panic, she asked me how to change her Facebook picture.
6. Have you seen the video of Kristen Bell flipping out over the sloth? I’m convinced she and I are the same person. I too will cry if I’m anywhere outside of the 3-7 range of the emotional scale.
8. My favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla. It’s thought of as the most boring flavor of all but I love it – my current obsession is the Starbucks Vanilla Bean. Yum.
9. I love the sound of Morgan Freeman’s voice. I’ve been obsessed since the last summer Olympics when he narrated a bunch of commercials. I would always fall asleep trying to stay awake to see swimming or gymnastics and I’d have these crazy dreams that I was hanging out with Morgan Freeman. Now I feel like we’re buddies.
10. When I went to college I’d never: heard of Starbucks or Target, eaten broccoli, or been on public transportation. Really.
11. My favorite movie is Annie. I’ve seen it approximately 1 million times and so has my dad. When I was really young, we lived in a neighborhood without many kids so my dad and I would watch the movie over and over and over and could recite the whole thing. If he messed up, we started over. I was a really fun kid.
Lee’s 11 Questions:
1. What was (or is) your major in college? Justice. I learned all about crime and why crime happens. It was so interesting but so many crime prevention programs were cut in the years I was at college. Now I work for a nonprofit.
2. What is your favorite form of exercise? Running! Lately, I’m really loving swimming too.
3. What’s your guilty pleasure? Dance Moms. So embarrassing but such an amazing train wreck.
4. Do you tell people about your blog or is it sort of secret? I generally don’t tell people about it in person. I feel like it would be weird. I’ve only had one instance where someone had found it on their own and mentioned it.
5. What food do you hate? Olives. Both black and green olives make me gag.
6. What’s the last book that you read? I just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein for the DC blogger book club.
7. Mac or PC? I have an awful Dell laptop for another week or two – until my tax return hits and I can buy a shiny new Macbook Pro. I have been dying to buy one of these for so long but made myself wait until my credit cards were paid off & I could buy it in cash.
8. If you could go anywhere on your next vacation, where would you go? Anywhere with a private beach. I love the ocean but hate crowds.
9. What habit that you have would you like to change? I bite my nails all the time. I really wish I didn’t but as soon as I get stressed I start again.
10. What’s your favorite beverage (alcoholic or non)? I drink a lot of water. And ginger ale. If I’m out, I like vodka and Sprite.
11. What’s your go-to dinner when you don’t want to cook? Chipotle. Yum.
Amy’s 11 Questions
1. If you could have your picture taken with one living person, who would it be? Taylor Swift!
2. What is your favorite book? This is such a hard question. I love to read and I know Amy only asked this question because she didn’t have to answer it. At the top of my list are The Book Thief, The Night Circus, The Bronze Horseman, The Harry Potter Series, the Hunger Games Series, and basically anything sappy that will make me cry (none of those links are affiliate links so click away).
3. How old would you be if you didn’t know your real age? I’d go back to being young. It would be so nice to not have responsibilities for awhile.
4. If you could offer a newborn baby only one bit of advice, what would it be? Enjoy those naps. You’re really going to miss them one day.
5. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? Lose the old. It would be sad to lose all of the my memories but I’d be happy to see some of them go.
6. What is your all time favorite dessert? Cheesecake.
7. What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Brush my teeth, followed immediately by walking little Fin.
8. If you won one million dollars, what would you buy first? A house. We really need more space and houses are so expensive in the DC area.
9. What is your worst habit? See #9 above – I bite my nails all the time.
10. What are you really good at? Procrastinating. It’s an art form. I can meander like no one else.
11. What are you doing tomorrow? Working and getting excited for the weekend!
Since I’m really late to the 11 things party, I’m breaking the official rules and saying that I’m tagging anyone who wants to do this.
My 11 questions for anyone who wants to answer:
1) Which armrest do you use at the movie theater, the left of the right?
2) Did you have any pets growing up? Do you have any now?
3) If you were going to pick an actor or actress to play you in a movie, who would it be?
4) What was the last crazy dream you had?
5) What’s the last movie you saw in theaters?
6) What was your first cell phone like?
7) What did you say you were going to be when you grew up? What do you actually do?
8 ) Would you rather be outside when it’s really hot or really cold?
9) Valentine’s Day – love it or leave it?
10) What’s under your bed?
11) Remember when everyone used AOL? What was your screen name?
I’d love to read your answers to any of the questions in this post (Lee’s, Amy’s, or mine). Feel free to leave answer in the comments or do your own 11 things post.

Iiiiii am snagging thiiiis!
I love these posts
When I saw that video of Kristen Bell it totally took me back to when I was in high school, completely worn out and over tired from volleyball practice, working part time and doing school work. If I got really embarrassed in class, I would start to laugh and then cry hysterically. It was completely and utterly humiliating.
And to answer one of your questions…Number 7: I was really into the West Wing and DESPERATELY wanted to be CJ. The press secretary just seemed like the coolest job. I’m in public relations, so I kind of reached my goal. Now that I am in D.C. maybe I will be more inclined to pursue that dream

Hi Kristen! My mom is a nurse and I was always so in awe of her & other nurses. I’d totally faint if I saw someone with a broken arm!
I hate olives too! It is such a problem because my boyfriend’s family is Greek so they eat olives with everything

Oh I’m bummed that would be one of my old memories that I’d lose haha.
That was seriously the best day of my life. Except for the part where I started choking on a Advil and you did nothing to help me.
Dance Moms – I totally get it. The best train wreck on television!
I’d heard about the Kristin Bell video, but not seen, omg, she is adorable! I’m the same way, except I also cry when I’m angry, which is frustrating when I’m really trying to be tough, or assertive.
Love your list!

Um, is it bad that I have absolutely no idea what Live Journal is? Or does that just make me old?
Way to go on the credit card payoff – that’s seriously awesome! My husband and I are working on that right now and sometimes it feels like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel so seeing someone else reach their goal gives me some hope!
